Our Manifesto

Art is more than what we see; it is the structure that makes seeing possible.

ARMATURE exists to explore those structures: the systems, technologies, and values that support creativity across the world.

We write about what holds art up - the frameworks of care, commerce, and connection that shape how it’s made, shown, and remembered. From the architectures of display to the infrastructures of data, from legacy to innovation, we trace the relationships that define art’s future.

Our belief is simple: the strength of culture depends on the integrity of its armature. When the scaffolding of art - its institutions, technologies, and ethics - is built with thought and intention, creativity thrives.

ARMATURE is for those who work within and around art’s structures: the makers, organisers, stewards, and thinkers shaping cultural life today.
We look at art not only as expression, but as construction - a continuous act of building, supporting, and reimagining what culture can be.

Because the future of art will depend on how thoughtfully we design the systems around it.

And we've created space for that thinking here.
